OLDER COOLER BULKHEAD NG INSTALL

FOR COOLERS

MALE NPT THREADS REQUIRE WHITE OR YELLOW PTFE (TEFLON) PLUMBERS TAPE BEFORE ASSEMBLY.   YOU WILL GALL (BOND) THE THREADS WITHOUT IT.

IF DRILLING A HOLE THROUGH A COOLER WALL

Use a 13/16 in hole saw if possible.  Be sure to hold the drill straight and drill through the outside skin of the cooler and just pierce the inside plastic wall with the center drill bit of the hole saw.   Remove the drill bit and position it in the hole you just pierced through the inside wall  and finish the hole by drilling toward the outside wall.

You will need to clean up the hole with a file.  It will be tight on the nipple and you will need to clean it up until the nipple will slide through

If installing through the spigot hole:

Remove the spigot from the cooler hole.   If the hole is bigger than 7/8" our kit will not work!  We recomend you purchase a different style cooler.

The pictures below document installing it in a rubbermaid style cooler.   The only functional difference on other coolers is the length of the nipple to span the thickness of the cooler wall.   Measure the wall thickness and order accordingly using the chart on the cooler bulkhead kit.
